I was first introduced to collecting
movie posters and memorabilia by my
father, Peter whose great collection
of 8x10 still photos inspired me
from early on. From James Cagney
and Laurel and Hardy to The Three
Stooges, Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey
– all among my Dad’s favorites and
subsequently, became mine as well.
My father had several of his
favorites framed and hanged in the
family room in my childhood home and
I can still remember staring at them
and feeling transported to the
golden days of Hollywood.
As I got older and started to
embrace the movies myself, I was
exposed to what became my own
childhood favorites: Roger Moore’s
James Bond Films, Grease, Jaws and
of course, Superman: The Movie with
the one and only Christopher Reeve. |

t was when
I saw Robert Deniro in Raging
Bull in 1980 that I was really
blown away and I had to buy my
first movie poster. I bought an
Original U.S. One-Sheet and so
started my love for collecting
Movie Memorabilia. I'd then buy
the poster for most every film
thereafter and I soon began
selling and trading. I’d go to
trade shows and conventions to
sell, but most of the time, I'd
come home with more than I left
with! I didn’t mind because it
genuinely became a collecting
passion and a love and something
I even was able to make a few
bucks with.
In 1999, I opened my first
little shop on Port Richmond
Avenue in Staten Island and it
was there I started doing custom
picture framing. After a couple
of years, an unfortunate fire in
the building forced a temporary
close but led me to my current
location at 1426 Castleton
Avenue which I now enjoy both
the joy of my collecting and the
pleasure of providing great
services and collectibles to
fellow enthusiasts. The rest –
as they say – is movie poster
history!
